Job Description: We are delighted to offer an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated individual to join our dynamic Health Information Management ( HIM ) department as a full-time faculty member. This role is designed to support vibrant engagement, whether through on-site involvement at our local campus or via a remote work arrangement, ensuring a supportive and collaborative environment for all. Regardless of the chosen work arrangement, you will lead online courses and/or externships, following our established course development model. This includes delivering instruction through various online methods, both synchronous and asynchronous, to provide a comprehensive and engaging learning experience. WORK LOCATION : Scott Community College 205-day contract Required Qualification: Associates Degree in Health Information Management or a related field. AHIMA credential of Registered Health Information Technology ( RHIT ) is required. Consideration will be given to AHIMA coding or other relevant credentials. Demonstrated expertise in effective online and blended teaching methodologies. Strong knowledge of current HIM trends and technologies. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a willingness to be on-site for local candidates and potential remote options for national candidates. Dedication to student success and a commitment to academic excellence Preferred Qualifications: Oncology Data Specialist Certification from NCRA Bachelor's in Health Information Management or a similar discipline preferred. Community College and/or teaching HIM courses at the college level is preferred.
