Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids is looking to add a Senior Technician to our Model Shop.

What YOU Will Do:
You will provide mechanical support for research, design, development or manufacturing activities for various customers
You will apply mechanical theory to lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify engineering prototypes and RC products
You will set up and operates standard equipment, and under supervision works with programming languages used on automated equipment
You will document mechanical design and modifications and has responsibility for documentation maintenance
You will assist engineers with the development of new engineering processes and/or products to ensure their manufacturability, under supervision may recommend design changes
You will perform as member of design team including leadership role utilizing effective communication skills
You will write/provide verbal instruction methods used by customers
You will provide support/instruction to less experienced mechanical technicians

Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
2 years of General Windows experience
2 years of Manual Mill/Lathe experience
2 years of CNC Mill/Lathe experience
2 years of CAD experience
2 years of CAM experience
Experience with sheet metal fabrication tools including shears, press brakes, rollers and manual sheet metal tools.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience with Rivet installation Preferred
Experience with General metal fabrication skills Preferred
Experience with Surfcam CAM software Preferred
Experience with Solidworks or NX CAD Preferred
Experience with Haas, Mazak or Trak Mill experience
