AEM Developer II - Military Veterans

Under general supervision, the AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) Developer with a focus on backend development is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-quality solutions within the Adobe Experience Manager platform. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver digital experiences that ensure optimal performance, scalability, and usability of the AEM platform. The AEM Developer will leverage their in-depth knowledge of Java and AEM-specific technologies to create and manage web content management systems that meet business requirements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers and stakeholders to design and develop AEM components, templates, and workflows that meet project requirements Experience in end-to-end implementations of AEM 6.5 or later, AEM as a cloud service experience preferred.

  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers and stakeholders to design and develop AEM components, templates, and workflows that meet project requirements.

  • Customize and extend AEM functionality using technologies like Java, HTL (HTML Template Language), and JavaScript.

  • Integrate AEM with various third-party systems and platforms using APIs and other integration methods

  • Configure AEM settings, permissions, and workflows based on project needs and best practices.

  • Assist in content migration and authoring, ensuring seamless transition and adherence to content guidelines and best practices.

  • Optimize AEM performance by identifying and addressing bottlenecks, improving code efficiency, and implementing caching strategies.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end and back-end developers, to ensure a cohesive and efficient implementation of digital solutions.

  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to team members and stakeholders.

  • Document technical specifications, system architecture, and development processes for future reference and knowledge sharing.

  • Conduct code reviews and participate in quality assurance activities to ensure code meets established standards and project requirements.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:


  • A minimum of three years with experience in end-to-end implementations of AEM 6.5 or later, AEM as a cloud service experience preferred

  • Proven experience as an AEM Developer, including custom component development and integration with AEM platform

  • Strong proficiency in Java, HTL, JavaScript, and other relevant technologies used in AEM development

  • Familiarity with AEM forms.

  • Familiarity with task management, bug tracking, and wiki-based documentation tools like JIRA and Confluence

  • Experience with AEM Developer tools such as:

  • Apache Felix

  • Apache Sling

  • Jackrabbit

  • CRXDE

  • Familiarity with the Java Content Repository API

  • Experience with testing at all levels: unit, integration, functional, and performance

  • Knowledge of OSGi and its Declarative Services

  • Familiarity with building tools, including Maven

  • Knowledge of version control tools, especially Git

  • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React) and their integration with AEM

  • Experience with AEM Core Components and AEM Touch UI development

  • Knowledge of AEM administration, including user permissions, configurations, and system maintenance

  • Understanding of software development methodologies, version control systems, and CI/CD processes

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

 

Educational Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Professional certifications are a plus.
