Job Overview
Position includes: Providing Technical Support to LSPD Customers, Travel to Customer's Location to repair or Modify Komatsu Stamping Equipment. Improve Service sales and parts sales through Customer Contact.
This position will require traveling 75~85% of the time. Travels will include: USA, Canada, and Mexico. Possibly Japan.
This position will require working 80% of weekends.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Travel to the customer's Location and repair their Komatsu Stamping Press. If necessary, supervise the repair using sub-contractors and/or Customers maintenance people
- Calculate and prepare accurate quotations for Service to Customers. This includes contacting Sub-Contractors and preparing their estimate into our quote for service
- Provide Warranty Service and Support
- Contact Customers on a regular basis for Customer relationships. Promote Service and Parts sales
- Communicate with Komatsu Japan. Speaking and writing Japanese is an added benefit for this position. It is not a requirement.
- To Provide Technical phone support. Supply the Customer with viable Product information to repair their equipment
- Coordinate new press installations
Qualifications/Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree with emphasis in Mechanical Engineering.
- Electrical Engineering Background is plus.
- 5~7 Years' experience in Stamping Presses Maintenance
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; Able to read Assembly and Individual Blueprints
- Ability to Speak and Write Japanese is preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND TECHNICAL DRAWINGS/DIAGRAMS:
- Ability to understand mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings/diagrams.
Computer Skills:
- Solid understanding of PC and common Windows applications. (Word, Excel, Access, Project) Interest and ability to learn other software programs used within KAILLC and KAC.

The Komatsu North America Mining Distribution and Service group is a critical part of our Komatsu global organization. We, sell, install, service, provide parts and rebuild equipment, as well as provide digital solutions for our customers.
