ACS (Advanced Compute & Solutions) is seeking a Back-End Software Engineer for our high growth, future-oriented businesses including Data Science, AI and other emerging areas. This role will work with some of the most exciting up-and-coming products in HP.

As a Backend Engineer within our Data Science Solutions team, you will play a pivotal role in the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust backend systems that support our applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, designers, and product managers, to build scalable and reliable infrastructure to provide solutions for our customers.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs to support applications. Collaborate with other software engineers, to integrate pipelines and ensuring seamless applications and integrations from various sources. In addition to support data-intensive applications and machine learning models.


  • Work closely with front-end engineers to design API endpoints and ensure smooth integration between front-end and back-end component.


  • Implement efficient algorithms and data structures to optimize system performance and data retrieval.


  • Participate in code reviews, identify barriers, propose solutions to enhance system reliability, scalability and security.


  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, best practices and the fast-changing area of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.


Skills / Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.


  • Proven 5+ years of experience in backend development, preferably in data-intensive or machine learning-focused projects.


  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as GoLand, and Python, or similar languages.


  • Experience with Mac OS Implementations.


  • Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL), data modeling, and optimizing database queries for performance.


  • Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and asynchronous processing.


  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, or others) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).


  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.


  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.


  • Familiar with Agile methodology concepts for software development.


Education and Experience Required:


  • 5+ years of experience working as a back-end engineer or similar role.


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.


  • MacOS Implementation Experience is a Must


  • GoLand experience is a Must


  • Experience with Microservices and RESTful API implementations is a Must


The base pay range for this role is $102,500 to $157,850 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
