Early Childhood Education Assistant Teacher - Military Veterans

at HERC- Upper MidWest

Position Summary:

Assists with curriculum preparation, classroom facilitation, and student monitoring to ensure safety and foster an environment of learning and development. Interacts regularly with parents.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:

  • High school diploma
  • Be at least 18 years of age and meet DCF 251.05 (3) (g)
  • Experience working with young children.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff
  • Able to acquire Registry Certificate at a level 5 or higher or eligibility to register at level 5
  • Completed approved childcare course or willing to complete online within 6 months of start date
  • CPR certified within 6 months of start date
  • Successful completion of a post-offer employment test.


Preferred:
  • Associate degree in early childhood or related field
  • Two years or more experience working with infants, toddlers, and/or preschool aged children in a classroom.
  • Knowledge of Department of Children and Families Division of Early Care and Education (DCF 251)

A criminal background check will be completed on final candidates. It will also require you and your most recent employer to answer questions regarding sexual violence and sexual harassment. The selected candidate must be able to pass a post-offer employment test. A six-month probationary period is required. The minimum starting pay rate is $17.00 per hour.
