USC Caruso Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Los Angeles, California Tenured or Tenure-Track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor We are seeking a faculty member with a strong program in auditory and/or vestibular research, with a particular focus on central or peripheral sensory system development and/or regeneration. Candidates utilizing cutting-edge quantitative molecular biology approaches, including single-cell multiomics, proteomics, or gene editing, are particularly encouraged to apply. Research can be basic or translational and can utilize a variety of model systems (e.g., organoids, non-mammalian animal models). The primary criterion for appointment in any tenured or tenure-track position is a candidates demonstrated commitment to research and teaching. Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the candidate. A PhD or MD degree is required. Candidates should have a track record of impactful research as demonstrated by publication and funding history. Candidates must be committed to being an active member of a vibrant and collaborative department and be capable of interacting productively with colleagues of different backgrounds and interests, including graduate students, post-docs, residents, other research PIs, and clinicians. In addition, the position will involve the education of trainees and, for more senior appointments, the mentorship of junior faculty. Opportunities for collaboration with other USC faculty abound, including those in the adjacent Broad CIRM Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research . Faculty in the department are affiliated with and can recruit trainees from outstanding training programs, including the USC Programs in Biomedical and Biochemical Sciences (PIBBS) and multiple NIH T32-funded training programs, including the Neurosciences Graduate Program (NGP), the Hearing and Communication Neuroscience Program (HCN), and the Otolaryngology Clinician-Scientist Training Program (CSTP). These training programs support graduate students, post-docs, and medical students/residents with a strong interest in research.
