The Department of Emergency Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons is seeking early and mid-career principal investigators with a strong passion for clinical and health services research to push the forefront of acute care science. We particularly welcome candidates with interests in behavioral and psychiatric care (e.g., substance use disorders, mental health emergencies), cardiovascular disease, epidemiology and health psychology/occupational health (e.g., healthcare workforce burnout). Our research division has a broad range of topical expertise in acute care disease, including cardiovascular,neuropsychiatric, bioinformatics, and translational science. Strong mentorship exists both within ourdepartment and through ongoing collaborations across the larger university including bioinformatics,translational science, and population health. Research faculty will receive robust support from our existinginfrastructure including pre and post award planning and grant management by our dedicated researchadministrative team. Additionally, research faculty will be supported by a team of full-time researchcoordinators and interns, in addition to IRB, statistical, and data analyst support. Opportunities for cross- departmental research and teaching collaborations with faculty, house staff, and medical students are highlyencouraged, and research faculty will have the full breadth of institutional resources to optimize and supportindividual faculty development and growth. We are inviting applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate Professor levels. Applicants must have a doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree) and have demonstrated excellence in research and a high level of productivity in their field, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications/presentations and the potential to secure external funding. They will be expected to develop a nationally/internationally-recognized and extramurally-funded research program. M.D, Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent Hiring Salary Range: $95,000 - $150,000 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, shift schedules, licenses, specialty, and training.
