Team Leader for Institutional Website and Digital Platforms Job Type: Administrative Staff Job Number: 00327 Location: Westerville, OH Division: Enrollment Management DESCRIPTION Otterbein University is seeking a Team Leader for Institutional Website and Digital Platforms . Reporting to the Senior Director of Brand and Content Strategy, the Team Leader for the Institutional Website and Digital Platforms is responsible for coordinating the overall infrastructure and content utilized for the University's website and digital platforms. This creative and strategic colleague will have primary responsibility and ownership for managing the University Website and its content; serves as the key liaison for all digital/web projects; and is the team's lead for collaboration with the Office of Information Technology (OIT). Will also coordinate and assign projects among the web team; translates creative briefs and brainstorming sessions into visuals, layouts, and designs for web and digital needs, supports special projects, plays a critical role in web/digital emergency communication, and contributes to the work of the team. This role helps ensure brand consistency across the University's website and digital platforms. This is a full-time, 12 month/year, exempt positon. Primary responsibility and ownership for managing the University Website and its content to ensure quality, accuracy, timeliness, relevance, and strong brand alignment. Responsible for coordination, implementation and maintenance of the infrastructure and software utilized for the University's institutional website. Understands the architecture and flow of information needed to sustain a large-scale website. Works with key suppliers and vendors to build capacity to ensure that Otterbein has a functional and up-to-date content management system for website and digital platforms. Monitors web traffic, performance, and capacity to identify, prevent, and resolve issues. Consults, as needed, with Senior Director, OIT or other University leadership to inform decision making. Maintains appropriate security, digital accessibility standards, crisis/emergency/weather web communication, and is prepared and able to troubleshoot any issues. Accounts; monitors, analyzes, and provides regular reporting on the University's web analytics; ensures compliance with University web guidelines and policies by Web super-users from departments and divisions across the University. Provides leadership for Ozone (Otterbein Intranet) and will be a key contributor in ongoing improvements and upgrades to Ozone. 40% Serves as the lead for all web/digital project management. This position is responsible for scheduling meetings with clients, listening to their needs, developing design layout, presenting layouts, making changes based upon feedback, and implementing the final product for web projects. Serves as primary MarCom liaison with divisions of Enrollment Management, Advancement, and Academic Affairs for all web and digital platform projects and needs. Will coordinate with stakeholders to ensure the site provides content and functionality that meets the organization's business needs. Will help lead the team through annual content review process with all institutional partners to ensure accuracy and relevant University information is correct and up to date. Develops timelines for projects in collaboration with Senior Director of Brand and Content Strategy and the Marketing Coordinator and is able to meet deadlines. 15% Team leader administrative responsibilities This team member is responsible for ensuring that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhere to approved budgets. Has the authority to recommend and make changes as necessary to maintain deadlines. Will help in coordination, updating, and accountability of web-related accounts and contracted web services and maintains list of all users and passwords for approved accounts. Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates assigned staff; manages staff workflow; implements strategic recruitment initiatives; coordinates recruitment activities; implements a performance management process with staff that includes annual goal setting, coaching and evaluation; collaborates with director of creative services to manage workflow for multi-media designer. Will help plan and facilitate the weekly web meeting with Enrollment Management leadership. 5% Other duties as assigned; serves on division and university committees. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises web designer and web application specialist; coordinates shared responsibilities of the multi-media designer with cooperation from the director of creative services. Minimum Requirements: The successful candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects while meeting client expectations and maintaining professionalism and should possess superb organizational skills to accomplish deadlines and projects in a timely manner. Bachelor's degree required, Minimum 3 years' experience using WordPress web design in a professional environment required. Experience with communications, and/or public relations desired. Must have strong customer service skills and be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Must be able to work independently. Candidates chosen to continue in the process will be asked to demonstrate their ability and knowledge with a portfolio of web and digital work. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: This is first and foremost a project manager position for the web and digital platforms team. The successful candidate must possess superb organizational skills to accomplish deadlines and complex projects in a timely manner. Highly proficient knowledge and comfort in WordPress, ability to build content inventories, taxonomies, and other information architecture or content management deliverables, ability to provide clear direction to web design teams (front end and back-end developers), strong interpersonal communications. Having expertise in information architecture and user experience design is required. The following knowledge and skills are valued: Experience working with a variety of WordPress plugins, familiar with the use of custom WordPress themes working knowledge of SQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS; and working knowledge of front and backend development. Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication and listening skills, be proficient in presenting information to clients and partners, take pride in and be thorough in quality of work produced with close attention to detail and accuracy; ability to multi-task, handle multiple projects, and plan proactively and accomplish goals in adherence to established project deadlines; must be able to use general office equipment including office PC, copier, telephone, etc., including familiarity with a variety of software packages including Outlook, Word/merging and Excel and Office 365 and SharePoint. Macintosh computer skills a plus but not required. Competency in oral and written English (including proper English grammar). Competency in basic math. Must be able to spend prolonged periods of time working on the office PC; must be able to manage work that the position is responsible for completing; must be able to work under deadlines and with interruptions. Must be able to meet regular and predictable attendance standards. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience required; master's degree not required but valued.
