Manufacturing Planning Manager - Military Veterans

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for scheduling, planning, and project management to support the company's manufacturing objectives for Internal & External Customer Order Requirements working with FGS operations teams.
  • Ensure alignment of scheduling and planning activities with the overall business goals and production targets.
  • Use systems and tools that integration with NOV Omega system to improve overall shop utilization/schedule across facilities with common product offering.
  • Implement standard Project Management Tool/Process to be utilized across multiple FGS facilities.
  • Support Inventory Planning activities utilizing Data analytics and functions within NOV Omega System.
  • Scheduling and Resource Allocation:
  • Oversee the development and management of production schedules for multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Work with operations team to ensure optimal allocation of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to meet production goals.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust as necessary to address changes in demand or operational challenges.
  • Project Management:
  • Lead and manage complex projects, from initiation through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop project plans, define project milestones, and coordinate cross-functional project teams.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in scheduling, planning, and project management practices.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with process improvement teams to integrate new methodologies and technologies.
  • Align activities and efforts to support One Fiber Glass Systems initiative, with supporting standardization and optimization efforts across multiple facilities support similar products. Including Data Governance.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of scheduling, planning, and project management professionals across multiple FGS manufacturing facilities.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team. Incorporate NOV pulse results into culture focused activities and initiatives.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and feedback to team members. Participate in recruitment, evaluations, and promotions of employees. Conducts training and coaching for employees in new work roles/tasks, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management, production teams, and external partners.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on scheduling, planning, and project management performance.
  • Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures, and programs, including the process map, support processes, health, safety, and environmental requirements for example.
  • All other duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in scheduling, planning, and/or project management within a manufacturing environment.
    • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
    • Understanding of ERP system operation and function
    • Excellent communication skills, including problem resolution and motivational skills.
    • Understanding of blueprints, machining, fabrication, and raw material beneficial.
    • Composites Manufacturing or related industry experience an asset.
    • Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and departments.
