External Communications Engineer/Systems Integration & Test - Military Veterans

Description:Responsible for planning, implementing, testing, documenting, troubleshoot, and maintaining solutions for the integration and testing of External Communications systems. Will provide oversight of Bath Iron Works testing of external communications systems and report status to group lead. Act as AEGIS Test Team Bath’s Spectrum Manager for radio frequencies. Review existing test procedures, document test procedure discrepancies for future revision, and recommend changes. Perform review of delivered EXCOM test procedures to determine technical accuracy.
An interim DoD Top Secret Security Clearance is required prior to starting this position.
US Citizenship is required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experienced field engineer with exterior communication systems (EXCOM), operations and troubleshooting.
- Acquire Spectrum Management Account, maintain all Radio Frequency Assignments to support Bath ATT Test Program.
- Excellent communications skill, written and oral, must be able to communicate on a technical level.
- Review and submit changes to system technical manuals, technical documentations, ECP’s, ECO’s drawings, schematics and Government Furnished Information (GFI) utilized in the installation of EXCOM systems.
- Support all EXCOM SOVT team visits to include liaison with ships force and shipbuilder to ensure support from all involved.
- Up to 50% travel.
- Candidate will be required on an infrequent basis to go underway on units and to frequently work on moored pier-side units. Physical ability to navigate steep stairs and ladders as well as work in confined spaces is a requirement.
- Candidate must have a DoD Interim Top Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position. Must be able to obtain and maintain a final Top Secret Security Clearance.

Desired Skills:
- Perform surveillance of shipyard construction progress daily and provide status to EXCOM Lead as necessary.
- Interpret and utilize GFI installation drawings to verify shipbuilder installation.
- Review and submit changes to system technical manuals, technical documentations, ECP’s, ECO’s drawings, schematics and Government Furnished Information (GFI) utilized in the installation of EXCOM systems.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
