Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Chief Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to support development of an exciting new space and ground capability for the United States Space Force (USSF).

The Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution System (FORGE) is a program that will utilize the resources and capabilities of both the legacy Space Based-Infrared System (SBIRS) and the Next Generation OPIR system. FORGE will use current ground architecture to leverage newer technologies, facilitate the addition of new systems, and incorporate these into a common C2 architecture that includes infrastructure, platform, and core services.

The Chief Engineer will lead a team of talented engineers while working with various vendors, engineers, and the customer to develop the FORGE ground baseline. As a digital engineering focused program, FORGE will implement MBSE tools to enable modeling and simulation (M&S) of the system thereby benefitting requirements assessment, design, and implementation.

What You'll Be Doing:


  • Lead the engineering components of the development and integration of the FORGE ground environment.

  • Lead ground segment systems engineering to include requirements derivation, mapping to architecture, high-level design and detail design and capturing in design configuration-controlled artifacts and documentation.

  • Lead systems engineers on the FORGE team to model the system using MBSE tools such as Cameo.

  • Lead development of inputs for program documentation in support (ex. System Engineering Plan (SEP), Test Engineering Management Plan (TEMP), Program Protection Plan (PPP), Lifecycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP)).

  • Applies state-of-the-art technical insight relative to SBIRS and OPIR systems.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical/scientific discipline and 15+ years of experience. Additional degrees or experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree.

  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering, regardless of modeling system.

  • Experience in requirements derivation.

  • Ability to lead teams comprised of members from multiple companies.

  • Ability to lead integration Technical Interchange Meetings.

  • Experience in the development of High-Level Designs.

  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:


  • Experience in M&S and CAMEO systems modeler.

  • Ability to develop CONOPS and use-cases.

  • Ability to lead a complex system engineering organization supporting a variety of customers.

  • Working knowledge of Overhead Persistent InfraRed systems and architecture

  • Experience in Space to Ground and Ground to Ground ICD development and maintenance.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance.

Salary Range: 

$140,700.00 - $253,300.00
