Systems Developer | Iowa State University Foundation - Military Veterans

at HERC - Central Midwest

As a member of our systems application team, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the public website and community portal built on Salesforce Experience Cloud, assisting with ongoing development of the ISU Foundations Salesforce instance, helping to deliver high quality enhancements and providing 1 st tier support for the organization.

Core responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Translate business requirements into well-architected solutions that best leverage the Salesforce platform and products.

Collaborate with different product vendors/apps while designing and implementing new changes.

Provide development and technical support for Salesforce and related applications including implementation and enhancement of Experience Cloud pages, customizable system features, bug investigation and resolution, and Salesforce development solutions.

Educate team members on ways to better leverage Salesforce Experience Cloud tools and functionality.

Identify, diagnose, resolve, and document technical problems.

Collaborate with IT staff members in the development and implementation of IT projects as assigned via internal SCRUM team.

Participate in the SCRUM development team as a developer.

Education & Work Experience

Bachelors degree in MIS, computer science, or related field.

3+ years of professional experience related to employment area. At least 1 year of professional experience as a Salesforce Developer.

Salesforce Administrator, App Developer 1, Platform Developer 1 & 2 certifications are preferred.

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential.

Ability to analyze business requirements and determine solutions including business process creation utilizing a wide variety of tools or methods.

Experience suggesting and implementing UI improvements.

Good knowledge of object-oriented programming and data modeling.

Proficient in designing and developing websites with CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and apex.

Creativity, patience, a sense of humor and a belief in our organizational mission of: Aligning donor passion and generosity to advance Iowa State Universitys land grant ideals.

Preferred Expertise:

Experience designing or building Salesforce Experience Cloud applications.

Understanding of and ability to move data between Experience Cloud and other data structures and entities (i.e. Google analytics, Stripe, Marketing Cloud, Sales Cloud, SQL)

Proficient in Salesforce.com development environment including visual studio SF IDE, migration tools, SOSL, SOQL, AMPscript, and web services Salesforce App builder, SFDX.

Experience using or supporting Ascend by Kindsight or other non-profit fundraising systems or higher education software solutions.

Technical experience working or developing in the following apps or their competitors: Gearset, Conga, Blackthorn, Vonage, Sales engagement, Atlassian, Visual Studio, IntelliJ
