Summary

Mission Technologies, a Division of HII, is seeking a Fighter Pilot Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support in a Modeling, Simulation, and Training environment at the Virtual Test and Training Center (VTTC), Nellis, AFB, NV. The SME will apply their operational knowledge of Air Force doctrine, aircraft capabilities, and tactics to prepare realistic aircrew training scenarios. The primary simulation software will be NAVAIR's Next Generation Threat System (NGTS), a product that provides constructive entities to the battlespace simulation. NGTS is a continually evolving synthetic environment generator that supports multiple platform/services training, testing, analysis and research and development. #LI-MJ1

What you will do

Provide operational knowledge of Air Force doctrine, aircraft capabilities, and tactics to ensure realistic fighter training. This will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide subject matter expertise during the planning and execution of VTTC Operational Training events.
  • Support the development, coordination, and integration of events to maximize training.
  • Orchestrate scenarios and constructive inputs for training events.
  • Create and modify mission-planning materials to ensure participants achieve maximum training.
  • Provide constructive and threat generation expertise for operational execution.
  • Provide instructor level expertise to help shape tactical training for participants.
  • Report issues related to stimulation software applications and provide basic trouble shooting support.


What you must have

  • 15+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13+ years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19+ years relevant experience.
  • Minimum five years operational air-to-air experience.
  • Current or previous Instructor or Evaluator.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Clearance: Active DoD Top Secret security clearance.

Position requires typical office work, on-site at Government facility.
