Work includes operating and maintaining parking enforcement equipment, records, and reports, such as smartphones and two-way radios, computers/software, and other technology. Requires the ability to attain a solid knowledge of UNCWs Parking Rules e ability to patrol on foot, bicycle, electric vehicle, and/or motor vehicle. Requires the ability to affix and remove an immobilization device weighing up to 21 lbs to a vehicle. Requires simple vehicle maintenance procedures such as checking tires, oil, and gas, and reporting issues to supervisor. Positions maintain confidentiality and discretion while conducting business; they work individually and/or with others, and they adapt to changes and circumstances as a team. Positions may require shift, weekend, and/or event/overtime work, and may work in all types of weather.Position may assist with minor maintenance associated with parking lots and parking decks. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: High School diploma or equivalency and demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. This position requires a valid N.C. drivers license. Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Previous experience as a parking enforcement officer; must be highly dependable and possess excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with the UNCW community, even in difficult situations; must be a contributing team member and possess the ability to walk for extended periods of time, and work in all types of weather.
