Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Lead Blood Bank Technologist - Woodhull.
Under supervision, with moderate latitude of independent judgment and decision making, performs clinical laboratory procedures, examinations, and related tests.
Job Responsibilities:
- Initiates, plans organizes, coordinates and schedules special studies related to improving services of the laboratories; modifies their techniques, or devises new methodologies.
- Supervises and monitors the work of the laboratory examiners or consultants inspecting laboratories under permit.
- Designates and initiates the study of new materials or methods to improve diagnostic procedures.
- Assists in the preparation or revision of specifications for laboratory layouts and/or their equipment.
- Consult with manufacturers, vendors and contractors concerning laboratory planning and/or equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid license as a clinical laboratory technologist or a limited permit issued by the NYS Education Department.
- Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree with a major in one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences and at least four years of pertinent laboratory experience of which not less than two years have been spent working in the designated laboratory specialty in a clinical laboratory having a director at the doctoral level.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $131,524.62 - $131,524.62 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
