WHAT OUR TEAM DOES WITHIN THE ACADEMY Child Welfare Development Services (CWDS), sometimes referred to as the 'Southern Academy,' is one of five child welfare training academies in the state of California. Established in July 1996, it serves the counties of Imperial, Orange, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Riverside. Additional workforce development, including advanced training, is offered to the counties of Ventura and Los Angeles. The program works collaboratively with several Universities offering social work degree programs: San Diego State University, California State University, San Bernardino, Loma Linda University, California State University, Fullerton, and California State University San Marcos. The content and design of our services are intended to provide participants with the knowledge, skills, and values of the best in child welfare practice and research, with the ultimate goal of improving outcomes for children and families in the child welfare system. The Workforce Management and Development Team is a support unit within CWDS. We maintain relationships to ensure CWDS has effective content and a robust pool of facilitators to deliver services. We accomplish this by coordinating and managing curriculum, and recruiting, onboarding, and developing service providers. Responsibilities YOUR ROLE IN REVOLUTIONIZING THE WAY PEOPLE WORK The Curriculum Supervisor will oversee all workforce curriculum development and management that meets the needs of child welfare stakeholders. THE WORK YOU WILL DO You will be responsible for: Oversight and project management of the development, coordination, and evaluation of workforce development curriculum for child welfare professionals. Oversee the coordination of all CWDS curricula. Participate in curriculum evaluation design and implementation. Development of scopes of work and provide oversight for internal and external curriculum writers. Develop, facilitate, and/or co-facilitate regional development and networking opportunities for CWDS Curriculum Writers (Internal Staff Facilitators and External Service providers). Convene curriculum committee(s) as appropriate to facilitate and inform curriculum development projects. Work collaboratively with CWDS teams to advance organizational goals. Attend regularly scheduled meetings across teams. (Ex. LMS, Fiscal, CRA, Evaluations). Leadership and supervision of up to 4 curriculum staff. HOW WE ACCOMPLISH OUR WORK This is a 40-hour-a-week, full-time position, working M-F from 8:00 to 4:30 p.m., based on contract funding subject to annual renewal. The position is subject to intermittent overnight travel and work shifts outside normal business hours, including weekends and evenings. This is a hybrid position, requires you to live in California, and has the flexibility to be fully remote, fully office-based (Academy Riverside or San Diego office locations), or a hybrid of the two. Note: some duties may include working with and/or exposure to sensitive/traumatic topics or material dealing with child abuse, elder abuse, and/or issues and scenarios related to mental health, substance use, or racism. As a project of the San Diego State University Research Foundation, the Academy is grant-funded and serves as an auxiliary to the University. We are based near, but not on campus, and do not have direct responsibilities for working with or teaching college students. Minimum Qualifications (MQs) MINIMUM EDUCATION Equivalent to a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE 6-years of progressively responsible experience performing varied or specialized administrative and analytical duties and/or service as a program administrator. ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU HAVE Supervisor experience, project management experience, child welfare experience, and curriculum writing experience.
