Maintenance and Reliability Engineer (Subsea) - Military Veterans

As a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer you will provide technical expertise, consultancy, initiative, and leadership to ensure continuous operation and certification of customer equipment by utilizing relevant digital technologies, maintenance information, and reports. Ensure customer and NOV success as key stakeholder of Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) program execution, Rigsentry (RS) development and equipment improvements

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize data analytics, condition monitoring, and maintenance analysis to determine and communicate status, reliability, and availability of NOV's products in CBM programs.
  • Ensure success of CBM programs by actively supporting Program Manager (PGM) and Project Manager (PM) as trusted advisor. Initiate risk analysis early and manage process of mitigation outside of PGM and PM domains e.g., towards product groups, class, sub supplier.
  • Communicate with Product Engineering to maintain organization wide support for reliability, maintainability, and design of existing or new products throughout the entire life cycle of the assets.
  • Provide input to identify reliability-related risks, and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact operation.
  • Work with Corporate groups on development of engineering solutions for asset management, collection of data, failure statistics or other information that may adversely affect operations.
  • Work with Maintenance & Reliability Engineering Manager to identify and establish department processes and assure continual developments.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Available to travel either regionally or internationally when required.
Facility/Group Specific Responsibilities:
  • Lead improvements on equipment maintenance, increasing reliability & availability.
  • Take responsibility, communicate, and manage design improvements on NOV equipment as a Maintenance & Reliability Subject Matter Expert (SME) - based on data, field results and customer feedback.
  • Recommend and contribute to Engineering solutions to prevent repetitive failures or critical failures, initiating and participating in Root Cause Analysis.
  • Create technical and equipment reliability plans, requirements, inspection, and certification scopes.
  • Support PGM/PM to translate Class, Standard (ISO), OEM and maintenance product requirements into plans.
  • Review and approve certification requirements for equipment covered under programs.
  • Establish equipment certification templates linking requirements for data, models, and tolerances to ease certification process.
  • Create requirements with priorities for development and configuration of analytical software modules as directed by program requirements.
  • Analyze and evaluate the quality/value of the automation of manual inspection methods including improvement of instrumentation, tracking, communication, or overall cost picture.
  • For approved R&D cases, initiate and organize developments and required certifications.
  • Collaborate with equipment responsible Engineers and product owners/ Standardization group/ other NOV departments to ensure quality of necessary information and documentation for program execution.
  • Review and manage program feedback, creating continuous feedback loops between internal & external organizations.
  • Deliver agreed KPIs.
Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with NOV Subsea Equipment / Systems (Desired)
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering and/or Technical/Engineering Apprenticeship. (Essential)
  • Certified CMRP or documented understanding of maintenance concepts, management, and execution. (Essential)
  • Experience in Lead Engineering functions or Technical Project Manager functions or field experience as Maintenance Lead/Supervisor or Maintenance Manager. (Desired)
  • Experience with R&D and improvement processes. (Desired)
  • A combination or equivalent experiences will be considered.
  • Understanding of design and maintenance of rotating machinery. (Desired)
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Understanding of maintenance analytics theory and application
  • Understanding of reliability theory
  • IT literacy
