Job Type: Support Staff - Union Bargaining Unit: SSA Regular/Temporary: Regular End Date if Temporary: Hours Per Week: 35 Standard Work Schedule: Building: Salary Range: 44,979.76-44,979.76 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary The Minah Kim lab is seeking a bright, highly motivated junior level specialist with an interest in research on cancer biology. Our lab focuses on tumor metastasis and drug resistance in different types of cancer and use mouse models and patient samples for studies. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the research technician will be responsible for carrying out fully planned experiments, imaging, computational analysis, and ordering and caring for mouse colonies. After a training period, the junior specialist will perform experiments that include treatment of mice, perfusion, and analysis primary and metastatic tissues. Additional duties will be assigned as required for the project and normal laboratory operations. Responsibilities 20%- Data analysis 20%- Tissue imaging 20% - Immunohistochemistry 15% - Mouse treatment and experiment including perfusion 10%- Mouse maintenance 10%- Laboratory maintenance and organization 5%- Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Two years of college or a completed A.A program with an emphasis in chemistry, biology, or physics or a completed animal husbandry program. One year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and/or experience. Preferred Qualifications Postgraduate researcher for work in cancer biology.
