Job Summary and Qualifications

The Policy & Procedure / Order Set Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the creation, revision, review and approval process for policies, procedures and order sets throughout the organization to ensure policies and procedures are properly formatted, consistent and approved in a timely manner.

What you will do in this role: 

• Coordinates the creation, revision, review and approval process for policies, procedures and order sets throughout the organization to ensure policies and procedures are properly formatted, consistent and approved in a timely manner.


• Facilitates the Policy and Procedure Committee, the Order Set Committee and the Nursing Policy Team.


• Works in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams comprised of medical and hospital staff to ensure evidence based medicine and best practices are used in the development of policies, procedures and order sets and works with departments and subject matter experts (SME)s to provide support about policy structure and content during the development of new/or amendment of existing policy documents and feedback based on review.


• Supports departments in defining Policy documents that require competency testing to ensure staff compliance.


• Reviews the changes or amendments made to existing policies and procedures to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.


• Remains knowledgeable of policies and procedures and manages the effects of change to ensure all related documents are consistent with new and/or revised policies, procedures and orders.


• Provides education on the requirements for policy development and approval.


• Serves as the facility liaison for Policy Stat, the electronic software used by the facility to create, revise, review and approve policies.


• Works with the vendor and division office on software issues. The coordinator also functions as an educator for Policy Stat.


• Collaborates with all members of the interdisciplinary team to achieve productive movement of policies, procedures and order sets to ensure best practices within the organization are consistent and current through timely maintenance of the process.

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelors Degree

Corpus Christi Medical Center is a 630+ bed healthcare system of hospitals in Corpus Christi and the surrounding Coastal Bend community. Bay Area is our full-service acute care hospital and offers state-of-the-art cardiovascular services, bariatric, GYN and robotic surgery. The Women’s Center at Bay Area, with its NICU Unit, is also the home of our graduate medical education program. Bayview Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient and outpatient short-term treatment for psychiatric patients ages 12 years and older, as well as substance abuse treatment. Northshore Emergency Center is a full-service 24-7 emergency department in Portland that offers outpatient laboratory, imaging and occupational services. Radiation Oncology offers advanced technology for treating cancer with the latest and most specific radiation therapies available.
