RTX Advanced Products and Solutions is seeking a temporary professional principal systems engineer to lead trade study and development activities for 3rd Generation FLIR activity in support of US Army customer and Ground Combat System Primes. Individual will lead systems engineering effort in support of XM-30 and Abrams sensor development and train other team members to proficiently perform system integration, test, and verification both in the McKinney lab and at the customer’s facilities. Also, install, operate, and use system integration tools to troubleshoot anomalies, collect and analyze data, and present technical issues and resolution to customer.  This position will be onsite in McKinney, TX.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:


  • Lead trade study response for 3GF sensor activities.


  • Support sensor integration into remote weapon stations


  • Brief management (to VP level) and customer (industry and Army) on technical issues and capabilities


  • Support proposal activities with review/development of basis of estimates and Gate materials


  • Monitor, track, and report progress of development program activities.


Basic Qualifications: .


  • Typically requires a university degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 10 years’ experience.


  • Prior experience developing, integrating, and testing 3rd Generation Forward Looking Infrared technologies.


  • Experience with Electro-Optical Infrared sensor technology.


  • Minimum of 12 years of experience performing system integration and test on medium sized mission critical systems.


  • Experience training and mentoring junior team members on technical expertise of sensors.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Army customer experience

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
