Postdoctoral Scholar - Future of Work Job #: 077738 Location Syracuse, NY Pay Range: $60,500 - $65,000 Hours: Job Type: Full-time Job Description: This Postdoctoral Scholar position will be mainly focused in the Future of Work, inclusive AI, social robotics, and data-scientific innovations. While the Post Doc will teach two courses during the academic year, a majority of time will be focused on research activities. Qualifications: The Postdoc must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in an information studies-related discipline and must have the intention to enter academia as research-active faculty. Individual must have research skills at a level that is expected of one that has completed a PhD. This includes experience in data collection, funding proposal development, preparation and submission of conference and/or journal papers, and research presentations. Individual must also have some teaching experience. Job Specific Qualifications: Responsibilities: 1. The Postdoc will teach two courses during the academic year, assigned at the intersection of their expertise and iSchool instructional needs 2. The Postdoc will conduct original research in accordance with their interests and expertise, with the aim of publishing that work in accordance with their scholarly tradition. 3. They will participate in activities of the iSchools Center for the Futures of Work, Information and Technology, professional development activities, and may mentor junior scholars in research activities. The Postdoc will also participate in a limited capacity in iSchool service activities, including attendance at faculty meetings, with the goal of acquainting them with this dimension of faculty life.
