Job Type: Full-time Job Description: Syracuse University's Office of the Registrar seeks a detail-oriented Functional Business Analyst II to enhance its student information systems, specifically leveraging expertise in PeopleSoft Student Records. Key responsibilities include complex report development, using tools like Tableau and Oracle SQL, supporting internal teams that manage PeopleSoft Student Records and Graduation Processing by creating and maintaining audits and also by analyzing and understanding student career progression and the configuration of student academic load. This position will also assist with system process management through documentation, system testing and by leading system enhancements in order to improve system processes. Essential skills include system and data analysis expertise, effective collaboration and communication, and meticulous attention to detail. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in information technology, business, or related discipline. Five (5+) plus years of relevant work experience. Information systems acumen indicated by experience in functional administration of enterprise systems and database applications. Knowledge of university reporting requirements and FERPA. Job Specific Qualifications: Strong technical skills and experience with PeopleSoft, various enterprise systems, databases, reporting tools. Experience managing data accuracy and security. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ability to work collaboratively with university colleagues with a forward thinking, student centered and service-oriented approach. Responsibilities: Provide technical support and subject matter expertise for PeopleSoft, Security/FAST, and third-party systems including, but not limited to Parchment, Diplomatic, 25Live, Acalog/Curriculog and other enterprise application systems. Administer student records security, manage, and maintain access to data appropriately. Work with functional and technical users in the Registrars Office to determine the appropriate access to data based on PeopleSoft permissions lists or access to information in data in enterprise systems and reports. Research new functionality and improvements as it relates to the various enterprise application systems. Provide technical project support for new functionality, upgrades, and other assigned projects. Develop and maintain required process documentation. Create, update, and maintain various reports, production queries and dashboards to support the processes of the Registrars office, schools and colleges and external agencies such as NSC. Approve, test and support queries in the data warehouse and University repositories. Continually review structure both of queries and of the data warehouse to facilitate better ways to collect and use information from the production systems; work with ITS to make data warehouse structural changes. Audit and analyze data and trends for decision making as it relates to improving and supporting various processes. Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional specifications as required. Develop, document, and maintain various test plans for new functionality and system enhancements during regression and upgrade test cycles. Other duties as assigned.
