Job Overview



We have an immediate opportunity for an Infrastructure Analyst / Sr. Infrastructure Analyst with an emphasis on Exchange Online to join our global IT team. This position is working onsite and can be based at our offices in Milwaukee, WI or Chicago, IL (Near O’Hare).



Key Job Responsibilities





  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and analyze current infrastructure needs and develop comprehensive plans for improvements and upgrades.


  • Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for the adoption of new infrastructure components that align with business goals.


  • Provide technical support to business stakeholders and other IT teams, resolving infrastructure/Exchange-related issues promptly.


  • Document troubleshooting procedures and maintain an up-to-date knowledge base.


  • Administer and maintain Exchange Online and on-premises Exchange Server environments.


  • Configure and monitor SMTP email systems to ensure reliable email delivery.


  • Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and patches to ensure the stability and security of email services.


  • Implement security best practices and policies to protect the organization's infrastructure and data.


  • Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and patch management.


  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations relevant to IT infrastructure.


  • Collaborate with multiple, cross-functional global teams such as application owners, network, and Komatsu subsidiaries to complete multiple high profiled IT projects 


  • Act as a technical participant for multiple simultaneous projects and day-to-day operations.


  • Collaborate with various members of the IT team on infrastructure, network, backup, and systems design.


  • Deploy new strategies and manage day to day operations as part of the Office 365 and Azure AD environment supporting over 60,000 users globally 


  • Assist in following implementing policy, security best practices, and standards across the global organization. 


  • Perform optimization efforts and implement automation and scripting to improve efficiencies. 


  • Recommend and implement performance improvements and cost-control strategies. Monitor the performance and usage of cloud services.  


  • Develops and improves ICT departmental processes for continuous work environment improvement.


  • Creates and improves documentation to support and improve problem resolution time and analysis.


  • Participate in Incident Response teams to address production or security related issues. 


  • Participate in an on-call occasionally during projects and as an escalation point.


  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies through continuous learning and professional development.




Qualifications/Requirements





  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, or Engineering, or comparable technical field experience


  • Ability to demonstrate strong logical problem solving and ability to independently execute on technical tasks


  • 3+ years of proven experience as an Exchange Online Admin or in a similar role.


  • Proven proficiency in scripting and automation skills (e.g. PowerShell)


  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate) are a plus.


  • Experience with Office 365 administration


  • Strong troubleshooting, project management, and communication skills.  


  • Ability to react quickly and communicate efficiently in a crisis situation.


  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (on-call, emergency support, after hours maintenance, etc.).




Required Skills:  





  • Create, manage, and maintain distribution lists and groups within Exchange Online and Exchange Server. Ensure proper configuration and permissions for groups to meet organizational requirements.


  • Monitor and optimize the performance of distribution lists and groups. ITIL and change management, technical and process flow documentation. 


  • Troubleshoot and resolve email related issues, including connectivity and performance problems.


  • Provide Level 2 support for end-users, addressing escalated email issues and inquiries.


  • Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for email systems.


  • Administer resource mailboxes (e.g., conference rooms, shared equipment) ensuring proper scheduling and usage. Maintain all Exchange objects, including mailboxes, public folders, shared mailboxes, and contacts.


  • Ensure that all Exchange objects are configured according to best practices and organizational policies.


  • Perform regular audits and cleanup of Exchange objects to maintain system efficiency and security.




Preferred skills:  





  • PowerShell, Office 365 and Azure AD admin Experience.

The Komatsu North America Mining Distribution and Service group is a critical part of our Komatsu global organization.  We, sell, install, service, provide parts and rebuild equipment, as well as provide digital solutions for our customers.  In the United States, we have a presence in 16 states across the US with 30 primary sites.  We have approximately 1,200 employees.
