Post-Doctoral Scientist - Neurodegeneration - Military Veterans

Are you looking to make a significant difference by contributing to our fight against Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases? Are you committed to making access to diagnosis and ultimately life changing medicines more equitable for traditionally underrepresented groups?

We are seeking a results-oriented post-doctoral scientist with strong research and communication skills to contribute to highly visible research projects. This work will drive knowledge towards equitable diagnosis for Alzheimer’s disease. In this role, you will:

  • Develop and test hypotheses regarding the underlying relationships between different biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease
  • Develop an understanding of any differences in these relationships across different populations (e.g. comorbidities or underrepresented groups)
  • Evaluate the performance of different biomarker strategies for identifying patients with Alzheimer’s disease pathology
  • Foster relationships with key external partners to drive progress and elucidate knowledge in this area
  • Work with others within Neuroscience and across therapeutic areas in a highly collaborative environment
  • Identify areas of key need across clinical development and champion creative solutions to address those needs. Maintain external awareness and learning to benefit the organization.
  • Present findings at conferences and publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals.

Basic Qualifications

  • PhD in Neuroscience or other related field

  • Strong background in Neurodegeneration research preferred
  • Self-directed and highly motivated individual who wants to learn new techniques while continually pursuing research and publication goals.
  • Excellent communicator (oral and written) with presentation experience, along with a strong publication record.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting
  • Experience with biomarkers and/or diagnostic strategies
  • Previous experience working with data from underrepresented groups
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with demonstrated experience working across multi-functional teams

Additional Information

  • This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend to 3 years. You will have opportunities to apply for full time positions after your duration is complete.
