Workday Adaptive Analyst | Loyola Marymount University - Military Veterans

The Workday Adaptive Analyst will play a critical role in supporting LMU's Office of Financial Planning & Budget by developing, analyzing, and maintaining comprehensive financial models and forecasts using Workday Adaptive Planning. This role requires a strong understanding of Workday functionalities, budgeting principles, and financial analysis techniques. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills and be able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively. This position reports to the Workday Finance Systems Manager in the Finance Division. Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities Design, develop, and maintain a wide range of financial models and forecasts using Workday Adaptive Planning, including: Budget models Forecasts Long-range financial plans Scenario analyses KPIs and dashboards Extract and analyze data from various sources within Workday including financials, HR, and payroll systems. Identify and address data inconsistencies and errors. Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze financial data. Develop and implement planning and forecasting procedures and methodologies. Stay up-to-date on the latest Workday Adaptive Planning functionalities and enhancements. Plan, implement, and coordinate system upgrades, and enhancements. Generate ad-hoc models and analyses as needed. Document planning processes and procedures. Train other staff on Workday Adaptive Planning tools and techniques, including OfficeConnect. Serve as the business system functional owner and subject matter expert on LMU's integrated deployment of Workday Adaptive Planning. Prepare and present written and verbal reports to management and staff as requested. Manage integrations between Workday Adaptive Planning and other systems, ensuring data accuracy and consistency. Utilize Adaptive Office Connect to create and maintain financial reports and analyses within Excel. Represent LMU within the community and at professional organizations or associations; serve on committees as required. Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Requisite Qualifications Typically a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with financial planning systems. Practical experience and strong understanding of Workday Adaptive Planning functionalities including model building, reporting, and dashboard creation. Proficient in financial analysis techniques including variance analysis, ratio analysis, and trend analysis. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated knowledge of automated financial systems, general accounting principles, spreadsheet applications (i.e. Microsoft Excel), word processing (i.e. Microsoft Word), cost reporting, budget projections and analysis, and preparation of financial plans. Working knowledge of financial planning within a university environment. Desired Skills and Experience Experience working with higher education financial data. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI. Familiarity with accounting principles and best practices. Prior experience with ERP systems.
