Senior System Administrator/Network Design Engineer - Military Veterans

Torch Technologies Inc., is seeking a Senior System Administrator/Network Design Engineer to support our Air & Missile Defense Business Unit.

The duties are as follows: Develops and applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques in investigation and solution of complex and difficult system design requirements and problems. Plans, conducts and technically directs projects or major phases of significant projects, coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects. Conducts investigations of considerable complexity. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects. Reviews completion and implementation of systems additions and/or enhancements and recommends corrections in technical application and analysis to management. Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Provides technical consultation to organizations.

Job Requirements

General

  • Integration test support
  • Debugging & troubleshooting issues during test events
  • Facilitate and maintain any external network connections needed for test events
  • Install and maintain all software & licenses to support RIMS testing
  • Maintaining physical hardware
  • Automating tasks and maintaining configuration management
  • Managing and overseeing backups, validating
  • Managing and overseeing data and file permissions
  • Monitoring systems, proactively addressing performance issues based on metrics
  • Diagnosing and addressing problems across the full stack
  • Maintaining local documentation, scripts, deployment methods, diagrams
  • Working with developers as RIMS software is developed and tested
  • Joining development team meetings to provide insight and design feedback
  • Maintain precise timing via dedicated GNSS/GPS devices
Cybersecurity
  • Operate tools for vulnerability assessment and remediation
  • Analyze log patterns for nefarious activity and audits
  • Enforce continuous monitoring practices across system lifecycle
  • Create technical reports and maintain technical documentation for eMASS package
  • Assess SSP for required controls and ensure compliance as system and technology evolves
  • Fixing PoAMs that are created during the RMF process
  • Continuing SCAP scans and manual checklists of all technology areas
  • Applying software updates to all technology areas
  • Maintain and control access and accounts
  • Maintaining and enforcing overall security posture technically
  • Apply STIG's for DoD baseline, and perform assurance with SCAP reports
  • Apply manual overlays where required by various technology types
  • Generating TTP's for specific system operation
VMware
  • Maintain a mixed Horizon virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI)
  • Maintain vSphere/ESXi virtualization environment
  • Configure and maintain all underlying virtualization host infrastructure and logical constructs
  • Assess license requirements and ensure system stays operational.
  • Procure and apply vendor specific updates
  • Create and decommission virtual machines and associated resources as required.
  • Maintain TenZig zeroclients firmnware and configurations.
  • Implement orchestration to streamline virtual asset creation and configuration
  • Creating templates of virtualized assets and keeping items up to date to avoid bit rot
Linux
  • Write and evolve configuration management content via Ansible playbooks
  • Maintain software update repositories, and apply update strategies
  • Codifying infrastructure as code
  • Automating most common system actions
  • Maintain the existing server and host infrastructure (currently CentOS 7)
Windows
  • Maintaining a DoD RMF compliant domain
  • Administration & maintenance of Active Directory
  • Securely implementing service accounts
  • Working with specificities of infrastructure consisting of virtual machines
  • Centrally logging all instances
  • Maintaining DNS and DHCP entries
  • Create inventory of Powershell scripts to automate common actions
  • Implement Powershell Desired State Configuration
Networking
  • Comprehensive knowledge of network engineering principles, methods, and techniques
  • Experience managing Cisco UCS infrastructure
  • Designs and recommends security policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate network design and optimization knowledge
  • Broad knowledge and experience with routing and switching protocols (e.g. OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Spanning Tree Protocol, ISAKMP, ESP, SIP, SCCP, etc.)
  • Through knowledge and experience with current Cisco IOS software and hardware features
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BS Degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience. 6 or more years applicable progressively complex systems design engineering experience, including integration of complex hardware/software systems.

Secret clearance is required.

No travel required for this position.
