Post-Doctoral Associate - Department of Neuroscience - Military Veterans

The Noel Lab ( noel-lab.org ) in the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis) is seeking to hire a Post-Doctoral Associate (expectation for 2-3 years). The ideal candidate will be a recent (or about to) graduate with a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. The candidate will interact with colleagues from the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain ( https://midb.umn.edu/ ) and will take the lead within the Noel Lab in conducting human EEG experiments both in neurotypical and divergent (e.g., autism) adults, adolescents, and children. Ideally the candidate will have an interest in perception, multisensory integration, the Bayesian brain, computational psychiatry or neuroscience, and would intellectually benefit from being in a multi-disciplinary environment with access to single cell recordings in animal models. The candidate will be (at least partially) supported by a T32 training grant and thus will benefit from programmatic career development opportunities. The ideal candidate will seek to further their training and scientific contributions in cognitive and computational neuroscience/psychiatry.

Job Responsibilities:
- Design behavioral and EEG experiments in consultation with Lab PI
- Implement and troubleshooting of experimental setup, in consultation with Lab Engineer.
- Professional conduct and responsible data collection in neurotypical and divergent
populations (behavior, EEG).
- Data analysis and modeling
- Preparation of scientific presentations and manuscripts
Salary Range: $61,008/year minimum, with potential for negotiation.
Starting Date: August 15th - November 15th, or as negotiated with selected candidate.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
- Ability to communicate science in English, best demonstrated by a track record of peer-reviewed publications and/or oral presentation.

Preferred:
- Experience with electroencephalography (EEG) and/or eye-tracking
- Interest and ability in computational techniques (e.g., Bayesian modeling, neural networks)
- Interest and/or prior experience in working with neurodivergent populations
