Scope of the job:

Our facility in Chander consists of a service technology centre (STC) which services a range of vacuum products and a manufacturing operation (PC) which will produce turbo molecular vacuum pumps (TMP). Our products are primarily used in, and are key in the production of semiconductors.

Initially the purpose of this role will be to work with the project team, and the business controller to set up the reporting and costing of the PC for TMP production.

Going forwards, as a key member of the facility finance team, you will have primary finance responsibility for the PC operation, whilst reporting to the site business Controller

As Assistant Business Controller you will contribute to the profitable growth of the business by supporting and advising the PC BC and GM and the Leadership Team in the area of business control throughout the organization, whilst driving a culture of continuous improvement.

The responsibilities cover the range of Finance activities, from controlling through legal and group reporting to driving profitable business growth in accordance with divisional strategy.

A key role will be to ensure that the costing for products is accurate and set in line with business policies. This will also require ongoing dialogue with the principal product company for TMPs, based in Japan

The incumbent of this job is a key partner to the GM and Business Controller, and operates as part of the PC management team. The person will interface with all levels within the business environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To be the finance face of the product company
  • Protect the assets of the entity and Atlas Copco generally.
  • Closely cooperate with GM and local management team to provide expert finance advice and insight, acting as primary finance business partner to the PC team.
  • Implement financial forecasting process, as well as annual and 3 year plans
  • Ensure that product costs via the cost roll truly reflect the costs to the business.
  • Ensure that monthly reporting is done within deadlines and to excellent quality.
  • Support GM and BC in developing the business in line with the divisional strategy in a sustainable and profitable manner.
  • Implement sound processes that follow the spirit of "The Way We Do Things".
  • Provide good quality analysis relating to the company to the division and business area when requested.
  • Participate as relevant in wider finance initiatives across the Vacuum Technique Business Area.
  • Ensure that the business gets value for money from it's spending decisions
Skills/Knowledge/Experience
  • Degree or equivalent post-graduate Finance qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Business Controlling/ business analytics
  • Experience in an analytical or controlling role in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent planning, organization, and task prioritization skills.
  • Quality orientation, attention to detail, self-motivated, able to work independently.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP
  • Willing to constructively challenge the status quo at all levels.
  • Ability to deal with conflict - communication, negotiation, persuasion and influencing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize within a complex matrix organization
