Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an amazingly talented Pipefitter/Plumber to join our team. In this role, you will get to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of various piping systems at the Faro Mine Remediation Project.

Qualified Local Candidates are preferred, but candidates willing to relocate to Faro or who are available on a 2-week fly-in/fly-out rotational basis are also welcome to apply.

Positions begin on a Temporary Fixed-Term basis with the potential to move to a regular, full-time role in the future.

What You’ll Be Doing:


  • Install, repair, and maintain piping systems, fixtures, and equipment.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Inspect and test piping systems for leaks and other issues.

  • Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors on construction projects.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing and pipefitting problems efficiently.

  • Complete Health and Safety (H&S) training related to on-site policies and company requirements and adhere to requirements while performing work.

  • Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.


  • Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.

  • Always maintain a high standard of housekeeping.

  • Assist site trades and services personnel as necessary, as requested by supervision.

  • Attend training sessions as required.

  • Complete chemical handling training and adhere to requirements while performing work.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Participate in mine rescue training.

  • Participate in first aid training.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:


  • Previous water treatment, process or industrial experience preferred.

  • Proven experience as a Pipefitter/Plumber

  • Knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations

  • Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote, northern environment, both indoors and outdoors.

  • Must be able to take initiative and accountability for assigned tasks in a professional manner

  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, adaptable to changing work priorities

  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks.

  • Valid Plumbing/Pipefitting provincial or interprovincial certification required.

  • Troubleshooting and detailed-oriented to provide accurate descriptions of problems.

  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25kg, pull, stand, or crouch for long periods of time

  • Valid class 5 driver’s license.

  • Proven understanding of safe work practices and mitigating risk.

  • Ability to work with little supervision and function in a multidiscipline environment.
