Job Overview






Proactively manages the planning system outputs and controls to balance inventory performance with order fill.  Releases parts requirements to the supply chain and manages move in/move out signals from the planning system. Monitors and analyzes demand trends, forecasts, target inventory levels and recommends system parameter changes to department management.








Key Job Responsibilities








  • Plan inventory, schedule material, launch purchase order requirements and align system forecasts utilizing current and future business travels to maximize inventory, availability, and supply chain performance.


  • Resolve supplier purchase order, receiving and order board discrepancies.


  • Conduct root cause analysis, establish counter measures and maintain performance metrics to achieve business plan objectives.


  • Monitor supplier performance reports and establish appropriate corrective actions in collaboration with various departments.


  • Address expediting needs to ensure stock availability minimizing backorders and stock out conditions.


  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager.










Qualifications/Requirements








  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Materials Management, Logistics, Purchasing or equivalent work experience. APICS certification or work towards certification a plus.







  • Manufacturing, production planning and/or whole goods product experience a plus.







  • Supplier management skills.







  • Extreme sense of urgency and bias for action.







  • Welcomes accountability and responsibility – individual and shared.  Acts as back up for the Supply Chain Manager as appropriate.







  • Change agent.







  • 3-5 years’ experience in planning and supply chain execution.







  • Professional PC skills in Excel, Power Point, Access, and high- level user skills in PIPS, SAP and Inventory Planning System.



  • Physical Requirements:  This position requires sitting for extended periods of time over 90% of the work period to complete detailed work, typically using a PC.  The position occasionally requires working extended periods to meet time sensitive deadlines.

The Komatsu North America Mining Distribution and Service group is a critical part of our Komatsu global organization.  We, sell, install, service, provide parts and rebuild equipment, as well as provide digital solutions for our customers.  In the United States, we have a presence in 16 states across the US with 30 primary sites.  We have approximately 1,200 employees.
