Who will you be working with?

Railroad Friction Products Corporation designs and manufactures Cobra high-friction and low-friction composition brake shoes, specialty shoes, and disc brake linings for freight, locomotive and transit vehicles.

How will you make a difference?

As a Friction Sales Manager, reporting to the Sales Director of Product Line, you will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of the Sales function including bringing in new business and growing current accounts.

What do we want to know about you?

  • 5+ years of Sales Manager experience (Rail Industry is considered a plus)
  • Knowledge of friction materials, braking, and/or railroad air brakes preferred.
  • Relevant University Degree
  • Experienced with MS Office and ERP Systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent English
  • Ability to travel up to 40% required.

What will your typical day look like?
  • Lead and manage customers and stakeholders engagement to support business development and growth
  • Support of existing customer relationships and acquisition of new customers
  • Managing the sales business in the region for which she/he is responsible according to the needs and characteristics of the regional market, formulating the sales strategy and business development plan including formulation and decomposition of performance targets, progress and monitoring of business plans, customer relationship management and business process
  • Establishing a smooth communication channel with clients, managing tenders, negotiations, and transactions with clients
  • Supporting the management in the formulation of the company's development strategy, market development and sales
  • Preparation and drafting of offers and offer negotiations.
  • Preparation and review of framework agreements, supply agreements and customer orders as well as their follow-up
  • Examination and follow-up of customer complaints
  • Determining customer satisfaction
  • Developing business activities, promoting, and maintaining the company's business and building long-term, good and stable customer relationships
  • Inform the business of market forces, customer strategy, competitor analysis
  • Develop and deploy winning strategies, capture plans and bids to secure order back log
  • Key KPIs and Reports on opportunities, sales and order backlog, customer centric, customer satisfaction, hit rates
  • Deliver Sales input to the STRAP process to support the S&OP process with Product Leads and Operations
  • Secure legal opinion to key commercial documentation/decisions through liaison with internal/external legal representatives
  • Support cash recovery process through close monthly control and working with customers to agree favorable payment mechanisms/settlements

What about the Work Environment and Physical Demands of the job?
Work environment will include office, test, manufacturing areas and customer sites. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles on, around and under rail vehicles; outdoor weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, cold, heat) and extreme heat (non-weather). Employee will sometimes perform work in plant or in field that will be dirty. The noise level in the work environment (outside of the office) is usually moderate. Working in field may occasionally require hearing protection.
