Part-Time Lecturer in Chinese | University of Chicago (UC) - Military Veterans

For the autumn, winter, and spring quarters of the 2022-23academic year, the Humanities Collegiate Division and the Department of East Asian Languages & Civilizations seeks a part-time Lecturer for Chinese language. Minimum qualifications are a master's degree or equivalent in Chinese linguistics and/or language pedagogy or a related field, superior proficiency in Chinese and English according to ACTFL guidelines, and experience teaching Chinese at the college or post-secondary level.Responsibilities will include preparing and teaching seminar-style language courses at various levels (elementary, intermediate, and/or advanced), holding regularly scheduled office hours, and the preparing and grading of assignments and testing materials. Depending on the curricular needs of the department, the successful candidate may teach between one and four courses per academic year. In 2022-23, the minimum per-course salary is $7,319.This position is not benefits eligible.
