Summary:
The Terminal Operator will be responsible for a variety of work assignments across the Nederland Terminal.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:
• Must be able to train, qualify and relieve as a rail operator, dockworker, bunker operator, "C" operator and perform maintenance duties as directed.
• Required to fill vacancies when qualified in multiply job classifications.
• Normally works a floating, rotating shift and the assigned shift is routinely subject to change.
• The employee is expected to work overtime and will be subject to call out.
• Must perform work assignments safely and effectively.
• Must be able to work in inclement weather and be able to climb stairs, ladders and gangways.
• Must be able to learn API and marine procedures regarding measurement and sampling

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
• High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree in Process Operations Technology preferred.
• Must be proficient in basic mathematical calculations and have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Requires prolonged walking, sitting, bending, stooping and telephone/radio communications.
• Must be able to work in severe weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Requires on-call availability at all hours.
• Requires ability to respond to emergencies at all hours.
• Maintain a valid driver's license for the state of residence.
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
• Driving, walking, and standing frequently
• Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting
• Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
