Lab Technician Job No: 497532 Work Type: Staff 1199 Union, Staff Full-time Department: Stern College for Women Location: Beren Campus, 245 Lexington Avenue, NY, NY Categories: Lab Technicians Position Summary The lab technician will work closely with faculty, staff and students to assist in the proper upkeep and maintenance of a busy undergraduate biology lab. Position Responsibilities Preparation of materials needed for the laboratory exercises Maintaining all living materials used in the advanced courses Ordering supplies for the various laboratory exercises Trouble-shooting laboratory equipment issues Overseeing the cleanliness of the teaching laboratories Maintaining inventory Assisting professors [e.g., photocopying examinations, proctoring] Experience & Educational Background : BA degree; preferably in Biology or Biochemistry Skills & Competencies : Attention to details, ability to work independently Salary Range: 1199 Laboratory Technician New Hire rate: $26.91 1199 One Year of Service rate: $27.46 About Us Founded in 1886, Yeshiva University (YU) has a strong tradition of combining Jewish scholarship with academic excellence and achievement in the liberal arts, sciences, medicine, law, business, social work, Jewish studies, education, psychology, and more.
