Intern, Project Development, Solar - Military Veterans

What You Can Expect

As our Project Development-Solar Intern in Chicago, IL, you will learn to support site origination and development for distributed solar and solar + storage projects for ENGIE by creating sustainable data workflows that align with the broader ENGIE ecosystem. Every day, you will assist with communication on invoicing for all developmental activities with the procurement team and help create a more thorough budget tracking system. In this role, you will learn to support the development team with all activities in the early stages of leasing site development, including site screening, site controls, and working with external land agents and in-house attorneys. You will assist in preparing presentations for project/market reviews at the global level. This internship program spans three (3) months, running from August 2024 to October 2024.

  • Support the Development Team: Acquire new sites, screen for challenges, execute legal documents, organize pipeline data, and engage in landowner outreach.
  • Financial and Workflow Management: Run financial models, create lease rate sensitivities, track budgets, and maintain meeting logs and action items.
  • Coordination and Engagement: Organize meetings, coordinate third-party consultants, and engage with experts for land acquisition, permitting, and design activities.

What You'll Bring
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or Engineering
  • You enjoy collaborating with several groups on projects, not afraid to ask questions
  • You feel confident in using Microsoft Excel such as, v-lookups, dashboards, pivot tables, and VBA
  • You enjoy creating efficient systems for spending on projects
  • Understand the basic concepts of Finance, managing cost workflows, track budgets
  • You feel confident in presenting in front of large groups and communicating with 3rd party vendors

Additional Details
  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE's policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing

Compensation

Hourly Range: $21.00-$25.00 USD hourly

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
