Staff Software Engineer - Military Veterans

Position Purpose:

The Staff Software Engineer will scope, design, build and maintain all workflow automation, ERP system integrations, and internal system automations for MHSL across platforms and systems. The position also provides direct support and troubleshooting for any issues with all internally developed solutions and automations to ensure continuity of operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop internal software and automations
  • Manage projects for new feature requests across the organization
  • Advise on new solutions relative to integration and data integrity
  • Work with hardware and software vendors to ensure current technology to meet the ever-growing needs at MHSL
  • Evaluate, recommend, and order appropriate hardware and/or software.
  • Research and recommend new technology to support the administrative and academic programs.
  • Review vendor specifications and recommend hardware and software appropriate to meet the administrative and academic programs.
  • Investigate and implement open-source applications
  • Act as backup and help trouble shoot issues that cannot be resolved by computer support technicians.
  • Act as liaison to vendors and help troubleshoot issues with network applications with their guidance.
  • Provide direct support for end users.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and previous experience with responsibility for designing, building and maintaining custom software applications
  • 3+ years project management experience designing, implementing and maintaining enterprise-wide infrastructure and applications.
  • Excellent understanding the following; NIST framework and Standards, Object oriented programming, Application Integration, Server Automation and Business Operations and Business Continuity
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong customer service skills and demonstrated responsiveness to customer needs
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with end users to deliver strategic solutions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent project management skills
