Position Purpose
Responsible for the oversight of Environmental Programs, permitting, training and compliance requirements. Use a combination of project management, technical knowledge, and communication skills to support and manage projects and programs. This position will promote a positive, and proactive environmental and occupational safety culture.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors plus 3-5 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Bachelor's degree in the natural or physical sciences or occupational safety related field, or a combination of education and experience.
Five plus years of relevant environmental, or occupational safety experience, preferably in higher education.
Certified A/B Operator, or the ability to obtain within six months of appointment.
Certified NH Asbestos Inspector, or the ability to obtain within six months of appointment.
Demonstrated ability to conduct audits or quality assurance tasks, write concise summaries and follow up on deficiencies.
Must be able to wear and use appropriate protective equipment as necessary.
Wide and comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local occupational regulations, professional standards, and best practices in EHS .
Ability to develop and deliver safety training.
Maintain a valid US or Canadian driver's license and the ability to qualify as an Approved Driver under Dartmouth College Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Policy.
Ability to respond to campus emergencies after hours and on weekends/holidays, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Well organized with the ability to follow direction with minimal supervision.
Good judgement and poise in potentially stressful situations.
Professional certification in an EHS discipline.
Strong risk assessment and risk communication skills.
