They have strong communication skills, along with the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure. They have a commitment to maintaining a safe environment and are CPR, first aid, and AED. An ideal lifeguard candidate is always alert and dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. The lifeguard works under the direct supervision of the Academic Dean of Kinesiology, Athletics, and Performing Arts. This is a temporary position. Duties and Responsibilities Maintain safety and well-being of all swimming pool patrons. Maintain constant and active surveillance of patrons in the facility; act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency. Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Present professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of customer service. Prepare and maintain appropriate activity reports. Open and secure aquatics facility at end of shift. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications CPR Certification AND First Aid Certification AND AED Certification AND Must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices. AND Current certification as Lifeguard by a recognized source of training (e.g. - American Red Cross Lifeguard Training) Required Application Materials Resume/Curriculum Vitae; CPR, First Aid and AED Certifications A list of three (3) professional references including name, position, organization, phone number, email, and relationship to the applicant.
