To learn more about UCR Health, please visit: www.ucrhealth.org The Pediatrics department is seeking physicians in inpatient, outpatient, and mixed settings clinical practices in Riverside, San Bernardino, and Coachella Valley at UCR Health clinics and affiliate sites. Pediatricians supervise and/or perform a full range of professional work in primary care medicine involving the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric patients. They work collaboratively with other physician groups for patient care. Assistant Physicians provide patient care activities under medical supervision where more difficult and complex cases are referred to Associate Physicians. This is a Per Diem appointment. Per Diem Physicians are hourly paid appointees whose primary purpose is clinical service. These appointments have a variable schedule and cannot exceed 43%. These appointments may be on a pre-scheduled basis or as needed on a day-to-day basis as determined by the University. Depending on years of experience and board certification a budgeted pay scale is up to $120/hour. *As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. All Covered Individuals under the policy must provide proof of Full Vaccination or submit a request for Exception (based on Medical Exemption, Disability, and/or Religious Objection) or Deferral (based on pregnancy) no later than the applicable deadline. For new University of California employees, the applicable deadline is ten weeks after their first date of employment. * Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Possession of the education and legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance. Required Licenses License Requirement Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the California Medical Board. Required Maintenance of California Medical License and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) prescribing number. Required Certifications Certification Requirement For employees in the outpatient setting: Basic Life Support (BLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. Required For employees in the inpatient setting: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Required Eligible to sit for board certification in a relevant care specialty as determined by the American Board of Medical Specialists. Board certification required within 18 months of hire. Required Experience Experience Requirement UCR has three levels of physicians; all levels require completion of medical residency and are distinguished by board certification status and years of experience. Required Junior (000772-Assistant Physician): requires board eligibility and must successfully pass the board exam within 18 months of hire. Required Mid (000771-Associate Physician): requires board certification and must have a minimum of 1 year of experience post internship/residency. Preferred Experience in inpatient and outpatient settings. Preferred Background and skills in clinical practice, clinical teaching, and managed care. Preferred Candidates must qualify for medical staff privileges at UCR Health and our affiliated sites/hospitals. Required Prior experience providing inpatient and/or outpatient pediatric care, newborn exams, and ER consults. Preferred Experience and interest in chronic disease management and working in interdisciplinary teams. Preferred Minimum Requirements Special Condition Requirement Travel Required Travel Outside of Normal Business Hours Required At minimum, incumbents are required to be available to work at least one day per month and one major holiday per calendar year as needed by the department. Required Preferred Qualifications Ability to stay abreast of new medical knowledge, and to maintain and increase expertise and skills as relevant to clinical practice. Advanced communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with staff and patients from diverse ethnic/racial backgrounds, educational levels, sexual orientations, and identities. Ability to work independently under general direction and to work collaboratively with others. Additional Information Computer proficiency and first-hand experience in using electronic health records systems to document patient interactions and coordinate care.
