Please review the following job description:

Architect, build, and maintain continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) framework services for existing and new software applications on AWS. The focus is on creating self-service systems, bootstrapping and teaching, while providing traditional production support for the pipeline platforms and framework.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Guide, educate, and provide thought leadership to our delivery teams as related to their optimum adoption of DevSecOps practices and framework.


  • Champion the use of DevSecOps as a strategic asset of culture change to enhance the flow of business value to our clients.


  • Make informed decisions and determine which tool best fits any given situation based on proficiencies with multiple vendor products, particularly those within the AWS ecosystem.


  • Develop and recommend DevSecOps best practices.


  • Use sophisticated, analytical thought to exercise judgment and design innovative solutions for the most complex components of the DevSecOps lifecycle.


  • Work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.


  • Provide technical and process guidance to junior team members.



  • Build and maintain the automation and streamlining of software delivery and operations for new or existing software applications through advanced proficiency and subject matter expertise in vendor tools in the DevOps lifecycle including:



    • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation)


    • Agile and Development Lifecycle Management


    • Source Code Management (Git)


    • Build Management


    • Artifact Repository Management (AWS CodeArtifact)


    • Behavior Driven Development (BDD)


    • Test Driven Development (TDD)


    • Compliance Automation and Audit Trails


    • Configuration Management (AWS Systems Manager)


    • Containers (Docker)


    • Deployment Strategies and Patterns including Blue/Green Deployment, Canary Releases, and Rolling Releases


    • Logging and Log Analytics (AWS CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail)


    • Performance Monitoring and Management (AWS CloudWatch)




  • Liaise with DevSecOps Center for Enablement (C4E) to ensure that Enterprise tools or practices are followed, and to share information about any team-specific tools or practices that may benefit other teams.


  • Active participant with the Truist Agile Guild and Agile DevOps Communities of Practice.


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED and seven+ years of experience in software engineering or IT including at least four years of experience in a role in which the primary responsibility is git-based application code development and/or DevOps Engineering and/or the development, maintenance, and support of CI/CD pipelines or appropriate combination of industry-related professional experience and education.


  • Foundational cloud architecture knowledge, specifically with AWS.


  • Must demonstrate the ability to write code (Python, Shell scripting).


  • Must demonstrate the ability to construct basic application build pipelines.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience working in Agile teams and knowledge of Agile development & release practices. Experience supporting a team with DevOps in an Enterprise Agile framework (SAFe, LeSS, DAD, Enterprise Scrum, Nexus, etc.).


  • Experience as a leading member of a web or mobile application delivery team and/or as a lead pipeline architect.


  • Experience building and deploying infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.


  • Experience in the banking industry.


  • AWS certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, etc.).


The annual base salary for this position is $103,800 - $197,220
