Job Overview






This position undertakes a broad range of HR-related responsibilities and is a critical partner within the HR team.  This position is involved in every aspect of the employee life cycle and provides a wide range of activities an support to many programs and processes including talent acquisition, talent management, employee engagement, performance management, employee development and training, employee relations, compensation, policy development and general administration. This role must be well-versed in employment laws and standards, and compliance.  The HR Generalist will also be involved with HR project management and participate in several operational priorities in support of enhancing business results and driving performance.



 








Key Job Responsibilities








  • Responsible for full scope of Human Resources activities including, but not limited to recruiting, hiring, onboarding, payroll administration, benefits administration and HRIS administration.


  • Support and drive safety initiatives and culture.


  • Work with department managers to assess manpower needs, make recruitment plans, interview, and hire individuals best suited for our staffing needs.  


  • Create and maintain confidential personnel files and information. 


  • Provide local monthly reports to department leaders and HR Manager. Analyze data provided and recommend solutions to trends observed.


  • Participate in employee relations investigations.


  • Stay abreast of employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. 


  • Support with planning and execution of employee relation functions.










Qualifications/Requirements








  • Bachelors Degree in HR or related field or 3 – 5 years minimum HR experience. 


  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.


  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.


  • Strong organizational and time management skills


  • Strong sense of ethics and drive to do the right thing.


  • Experience with MS Excel, Word,  and Power Point.


  • Preferred experience with Power Bi, SuccessFactors, and UKG.


  • Excellent documentation skills.


  • Confidentiality adherence.


  • SPHR or PHR professional certification a plus.

The Komatsu North America Mining Distribution and Service group is a critical part of our Komatsu global organization.  We, sell, install, service, provide parts and rebuild equipment, as well as provide digital solutions for our customers.  In the United States, we have a presence in 16 states across the US with 30 primary sites.  We have approximately 1,200 employees.
