Morris Midwest-MN provides CNC machine tools, tooling and accessories, and related engineering and installation and maintenance support services to manufacturers in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

Summary of Responsibility:

Within these companies, our Applications Engineers are bringing expertise in the newest technology in machines, cutting tools, programming software. We need your validated experience to bring innovative ideas to our customers. Morris is looking for the brightest machinists and programmers to offer the best training, problem solving, customer support and solutions that is unmatched by our competitors.

What You Will Contribute:



  • Conducting pre-sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations and development of turnkey proposals


  • Making accurate cost estimates, writing engineering reports, and interpreting plans and specifications


  • Programming and setting up CNC lathes, CNC vertical or horizontal mills, and Swiss style lathes


  • Developing/ implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes and/ or multi-tasking machines


  • Maintaining an in-depth technical knowledge of product lines represented by the company

Qualifications & Competencies:



  • Strong hands-on machining background with at least 2 years of experience with CNC machines


  • Experience on Fanuc and Okuma controls is a plus


  • Proven solid understanding of CAD/CAM software is vital


  • MasterCam, Esprit and Solidworks experience is a plus


  • Excellent customer service and effective interpersonal skills required


  • Frequent travel throughout our regional territory
