Program Coordinator Primary Purpose: Under the general direction of the SUCCESS TRIO Program Specialist and Program Director, the Program Coordinator monitors the tutorial program and a caseload of 100 undergraduate students from University of the Pacific. The Program Coordinator provides ongoing guidance, support, and resources to participants from first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities background with services in retention, graduation, and graduate school assistance. This is a full-time, 9-month position with funding guaranteed through the grant cycle ending 8/31/2025. Essential Functions: Assist with recruiting and recommendation of participants meeting eligibility requirements to Program Specialist and Program Director. Oversees the tutorial program, hires, supervises, and provides budgetary reports to Program Specialist. Monitors student academic performance and maintains appropriate electronic and written documentation in student folders. Assist with coordinating program events, some of which will be outside of the normal workday. Advises and assists students with postsecondary course selection, graduate school admissions, and financial aid process. Maintains academic records of participant caseload and provides documented services and activities, including referrals to campus resources. Ensures compliance with University and federal grant regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. This position serves as Campus Security Authority (CSA) as outlined by the Clery Act. CSAs have federally mandated responsibilities to report crimes that are reported them. Two (2) years of experience working in an educational setting. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of managing student tutoring. Knowledge in the areas of academic advising, financial aid, course scheduling, student counseling, and career program planning and development. Demonstrate sensitivity to the special needs of eligible students. Experience in staff hiring and training, program planning, and effective organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience working with budget and payroll matters. Proficient computer skills and working knowledge using software applications. Professional or personal experiences in overcoming barriers like those confronted by the participants. Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism, including understanding FERPA and other policies, procedures or regulations guiding interactions with students and colleagues. Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Work Environment/Work Week/Travel: Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment. Work performed during standard business hours, but may require occasional evenings and weekends for various Department, University or Division events. Hiring Range: $18.09-$23.96 per hour.
