- Provides world class hospitality and customer service throughout events. 2. Sets up and breaks down events including: banquet props, tables, chairs, buffets, table linen, silverware, glassware and china. 3. Replenishes food and beverage stations throughout events. 4. Executes table service meals including wine and coffee service. 5. Performs side work including: polishing silverware and glassware, filling condiments and coffee service items, assists in loading and unloading of catering trucks. 6. Cleans dining rooms and event spaces. 7. Provides cleaning and organizational support during catered events to minimize trash and ensure buffets and beverage stations stay clean, neat and organized. 8. Communicates in an unambiguous manner customer requests to management and event leads. Provides customers with detailed and accurate information on food and beverage offerings. 9. Supports a safe work environment by following work rules and safety guidelines. 10. Supports event service and logistics needs with the support of catering management and lead staff. Required Skill/ability 1: Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear, pleasant, grammatically correct and professional manner. Required Skill/ability 2: Ability to follow recipes and other detailed instructions. Required Skill/ability 3: Ability to meet and serve customers in a polite and friendly manner.Ability to work flexible schedules, as requested by the department. Required Skill/ability 4: Candidates must comply with safety and sanitation regulations as prescribed by law, and must comply with proper dress code as designated by the department. Preferred Education: A passion for food and hospitality. Experience working in the food and/or hospitality industries. Strong customer service background. Work Week: Flexible or Non-Standard (for anything other than Standard) University Job Title: Banquet Server Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: A passion for food and hospitality. High School diploma or GED; or currently enrolled in a district high school, or actively pursuing a GED, and expected to receive High School diploma within a maximum of two years.
