General Description SAIS Europe is currently seeking to fill a tenured faculty position in American foreign policy. We are especially interested in scholars of trans-Atlantic relations, the global order, statecraft and strategy. While we welcome applications from all disciplines, preference will be given to scholars who conduct empirical research and have a background in history, international relations, political science, and related disciplines. The position will be at the associate or full professor rank with tenure. The position is based at the Bologna, Italy campus of SAIS. Candidates will be expected to teach primarily in the master's programs in International Affairs. The expected teaching load is 3 classes per academic year.  Qualifications Candidates will be expected to have an active research agenda, a strong publication record and be among the leading scholars of their field. Preference will be given to candidates who combine outstanding research, proven excellence in teaching, policy relevance, and experience in the public square. The appointments will ideally start on 1 July, 2025.
