Post-Award Research Financial Manager - Pediatrics | University of Wisconsin Madison - Military Veterans

Job Summary: The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Post Award Accountant Manager to join our friendly, supportive and dynamic team and provide post-award grants administration leadership and support to faculty, researchers and trainee investigators in the Department. This position will supervise 5-6 staff, and will provide leadership and support in managing the sponsored projects funding portfolios of Department of Pediatrics (DOP) investigators and staff. Responsibilities include working with principal investigators and research staff to budget, monitor expenditures, and reconcile financial data for sponsored programs, including processing and/or approving accounting transactions such as cost transfers, procurement, sub award management, and financial processing related to sponsored project management. This position will also have the opportunity to develop workflows and processes to streamline and improve support for DOP research, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and compliance with university policies, procedures, and regulations. Responsibilities: Manages post-award research administration activities or personnel related to financial transactions, audit, sponsored project payments, and/or compliance. Develops and oversees implementation of operations and strategic planning to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements within a unit. 10% Develops, implements, and evaluates post-award research administration operational policies and procedures including financial, administrative, staffing, and compliance 20% Reviews and/or approves financial transactions and reporting and ensures compliance with policies and procedures for sponsored grants and contracts 20% May supervise activities of research administration staff 20% Serves as a key resource to leadership and staff in the unit as well as a liaison to partners and stakeholders 10% May be responsible for new account setup 20% Manages funding portfolios for a set of PIs in the department Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
