Salary is based on previous college-level teaching experience Percent time: 17% to 100% Anticipated start: Positions usually start in July/August for Fall and January for Spring Semesters, various times throughout the summer. Position description The Department of Demography at the University of California at Berkeley is generating an applicant pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach a range of courses in the department should openings arise. We invite instructors to apply that can teach broadly accessible topics and introductions to formal demographic methods, social demography, fertility, mortality, migration, population and environment, family and gender, demography of race and ethnicity, history of population thought, demographic implications of climate change, international migration and refugees, political demography, economic demography, demography and development. The position's duties include undergraduate and graduate teaching. In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties may include managing graders and/or graduate student instructors (teaching assistants), holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), maintaining a course website, and writing exams.
