Compensation Range: $74,000 - $110,800
Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.
Job Purpose
A test engineer at ABSL supports various programs through test planning, development of relevant documentation and designs, and test execution. This candidate would work closely with other disciplines and departments at ABSL as required for successful program execution. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with 1+ years of experience to join a growing international space component supplier.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support space battery and cell testing with an emphasis on mechanical, electrical, and thermal testing
- Assume the “responsible engineer” role during the testing phase of the program
- Utilize customer specifications and work closely with a program team to develop well-written test processes/procedures to be performed by technicians for all phases of testing
- Ensure test documentation is compliant to customer specifications
- Attend and contribute to internal and customer meetings and formal design reviews to support program execution
- Lead data interpretation and reduction
- Generate test reports for all phases of battery testing
- Participate in investigations, troubleshooting, resolutions, and product improvement meetings
- Report directly to the Test Engineering Supervisor
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline such as engineering, math, or physics (Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical are preferred)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team to strict deadlines
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel to process, manipulate, and present test data
- Aerospace test industry specific experience preferred with an emphasis on mechanical, electrical, or thermal testing
- Knowledge of, or experience with, lithium-ion batteries advantageous
- Experience with OrCAD or other electrical design tools is advantageous
- “Off” hours or weekend support may be required at times
