Location: Illinois: Chicago Job Description: Oversees the research project management and implementation process across program partners for multiple projects; oversees subject selection and randomization process; travels to program sites to monitor and assess implementation; ensures research projects progress according to timelines. Applies research principles and relevant subject matter knowledge relevant to administer a research project; collaborates with team of data analysts to ensure proper data collection to evaluate program progress and feasibility. Oversees University of Chicago IRB procedures and maintains confidentiality of participant information; ensures compliance with institutional, state and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates. Establishes and manages scope of work and data sharing agreements with key data partners. Builds and maintains strong relationships with external research partners and all participating partner organizations, government agencies, nonprofits, and other community groups while seeking new strategic partnerships. Works with PI and Grants Manager to develop budgets and owns all aspects of grant submission to federal and foundation funding agencies; oversees progress reports, performance, or financial reporting as required by the granting agency; monitors anticipated and actual costs charged to project budgets, proactively communicates these to Grants Manager to identify and prevent potential overruns. Develops, reviews, and disseminates necessary project materials to research team and partner agencies; prepares and reviews project memos, summaries, presentations, and manuscripts targeting both policymakers, academic researchers and other stakeholders. Generates tables and graphs for academic papers, reports and presentations; writes, proofreads and fact-checks academic papers, reports and presentations. Supervises and develops a team of policy or data project associate(s) and other temporary research staff, including summer intern(s) and predoctoral fellow(s). Scopes potential new projects that have research and policy relevance, convening the necessary expertise to project costs, timelines, and impact. Leads initiatives that build processes and/or infrastructure for the Lab (e.g., website and communications, institutional knowledge, Values, and other IEL committees). Solves complex problems relating to the administration of projects, including planning new procedures, adapting existing procedures to the needs of the project, and making significant contributions to methodology. Guides data collection, evaluation and analysis. Designs and manages databases. Writes reports, articles and manuscripts. Presents research findings at meetings and conferences, as well as to funding agencies. Conducts literature reviews. Develop and maintain liaisons and effective working relations with groups and individuals, agencies, and the public to encourage cooperative management strategies or to develop information and interpret findings. Performs other related work as needed.
